E005O, Remember oil had not even been discovered for another 50 years, so these steel buckets were a MUST for lubing the artillery pieces and other metal works. This lucky specimen has survived intact, complete with chains and top cover, measures 8" high, 7" diameter, retains much original black paint, all original and complete, ship weight 11 pounds.Danner Museum 1 1/8”Canister Shot Recovered Gettysburg Battlefield. These small canister (approximately 1 1/8”)shot were picked up on The Gettysburg Battlefield by Joel Danner of Gettysburg, proprietor of the famed Danner Museum. The museum was one of the first to display relics from the battlefield. Danner items are extremely rare and very collectible. These were at The Danner Museum and later ended up in a a Pennsylvania GAR Hall. They were later discovered with other battlefield relics marked Danner. These are fully guaranteed to be authentic as described. They will come with a copy (we have a few more of these) of the original letter of authenticity from a leading dealer in military artifacts in Gettysburg.
